Home of the Austin Squash League
Welcome to AustinSquash.com, home of the Austin Squash League. In addition to continuously updating the site with League results and news, we will also keep you up to date with the squash scene in Austin, Texas, the USA and beyond.

The Austin Squash League grew out of a need for Austin based players to improve their squash through more regular competitive play. With the exception of the occasional tournament at the University of Texas, there was no opportunity in Austin to play in a competition environment. Players here had to travel to Dallas, Houston and further afar to challenge themselves. Until 2007, the only squash courts in Austin were at the University of Texas. With the opening of Life Time Fitness locations in North and South Austin, the seeds of a traveling league were sown. After surveying Austin squash players a format was decided and entry forms distributed.

The first League season commenced on October 16, 2007 with two teams representing the University of Texas and two representing Life Time Fitness.  The League has now grown to 12 teams, representing three clubs and playing in two divisions.  Division 1 League matches are played on Tuesday nights at 7:00pm weekly at each of our member clubs throughout the season and Division 2 matches are played on Wednesday nights, also at 7:00pm.

Entries for the Summer 2009 Season have now closed.  There are still some opportunities to play as a reserve.  If you are interested, please complete the entry form found on the "documents" page of this site and submit it to  league@austinsquash.com .

The Spring 2009 season Grand Finals in both divisions went down to the last match before they were decided.

In Division 2 LTS4 were down 2-1 when Velu and Jerry took to the court in the final match.  They played the second 5 set match of the Final with Velu eventually outlasting Jerry to take the 5th game and match for the LTS4 team.  The final result was LTS4 2 - 9 - 151 to LTN4 2 - 8 - 143.  Also of note in that final, was the exciting 5 set battle between Chris and Kristin which was probably the best match seen in the #4 position all season.

The Division 1 Grand Final saw UT2 and LTN2 in competition.  LTN2 opened strongly with Athar taking the first match 3-1 over Michi.  Their position was consolidated when Paul came back from a 2-1 deficit to beat Anjum in 5.  Eugene then gave UT2 a glimmer of hope when he fought his way to a 3-1 win over Tinus.  This match was extremely close throughout, with only one point between them at the conclusion.  The final match of the day saw #4 players Aasim and Kim take the court, with Kim needing to win for UT2 to take home the big trophies.  Unfortunately, Aasim was too strong on the day and his solid 3-0 win gave Division 1 victory to the LTN2 team.
